Additional Instructions from the Master DK from Letters on Occult Meditation.

July 25, 2018

“We will presume that a congregation of people is desirous of linking up with that channel of force that works through the emotions, and so stimulates to greater aspiration and love. In united silence they will stand until, at a given word from the leader, each unit in the group will deliberately withdraw his consciousness into the heart centre, and then from that heart centre (keeping the conscious steadily there) he will drive forth the sound of the Sacred Word, pitched in the key to which the majority of the group respond. This sound will create the necessary funnel, and the result will be an immense temporary extension of the peripheries of the emotional bodies of the participants, and an intense vitalisation of their heart centres. By means of this the people will be enabled to reach heights and receive blessings otherwise not separately possible”. (Letters on Occult Meditation, The United Sounding of the Sacred Word…pg.194, Alice A. Bailey, Lucis Publishing Co.)

This is a most important and emphatic dictation of guidelines for practical service that the Master D.K. through Alice A. Bailey gives. Although, it is a very basic, bare bones outline of direction and possibilities, it is an excellent starting point for service through group work. There are several very poignant aspects of this quote that should be considered. In the first sentence of these instructions he points to the use of the ‘emotions’ as a means to greater aspiration and love. This is one aspect of present day esoteric spiritual development that few aspirants consider. The intellect or the head centers have become the main focus in order to understand the esoteric philosophy. The emotions are necessary to make this philosophy real. What do I mean by real? The emotions are needed to drive the quality of disciplined practice in a group environment making the philosophy useful and not just words. There are higher emotions and lower emotions.

The positive emotions of hope, aspiration, and bhakti/devotion(which are aspects of love) are a reflection of ‘buddhi’ not the higher ‘manas’. The Master D.K. also mentions that, “students of meditation must learn to imagine more”. How do you awaken the emotion of aspiration and love? In order to aspire or love, you have to direct your aspiration or love to something or someone. Sometimes the Master D.K. mentions to focus on an ‘ideal’. But in a way this is a blind! What ideal is he talking about?

In the last sentence he says that participants “will be enabled to reach heights and receive blessings otherwise not separately possible”. From whom do you receive the blessings and what heights is he talking about? In another part of this chapter he mentions the ‘Nirmanakayas’ that will be able to use these groups and in another place he talks about communications with ‘Intelligences or Powers’. He uses such words so students whose aspiration is strong will reach deeper into these ideas for the real meanings. These words act as blinds and most readers just pass them by. The ‘Nirmanakayas’ are the ‘liberated souls (jivan muktas) who are dedicated to World Service, they are the Masters of Wisdom. The inference behind the words, Intelligences or Powers is much broader and deeper referring not only again to the Masters but also to Deities and Devas.

The deeper aspect of the Master D.K’s work is Vajrayana Buddhism, or Esoteric Buddhism. Avalokiteshvara is the patron Buddha of the Trans-Himalayan Brotherhood. Aligning one’s being with Avalokiteshvara in an esoteric sense will fulfill these instructions as given by the Master DK and achieve the results as mentioned above,” to reach heights and receive blessings otherwise not separately possible”.

Avalokiteshvara is that greater ‘ideal’ as it embodies the so much of the teaching given out by the Master DK. The esoteric aspect of Avalokiteshvara is not the teaching given out by the present day Tibetan Lamas. A little hint, Avalokiteshvara in an esoteric sense is the Buddhist Kabalah.

The purpose of Northern School of Esoteric Wisdom is to build groups who want to learn the science of invocation starting with the Sacred Word eventually adding a sacred mantra attuned to the Masters of Wisdom and certain Deities. The Master DK mentions in one of his teachings, “Victory comes from above”.
